Georgia Equality has launched a new video series that features the real stories of Georgians whose lives have been turned upside down because of discrimination they faced in the workplace, simply because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. The series of videos, All Things Being Equal, features emotional stories from hardworking Georgians who were fired or denied employment for no other reason than their sexual orientation or gender identity.
I edited several videos for Michelin, for both internal and external use, focused on Michelin tires and the competitive advantage and technological advances they have provided teams in the racing circuit.
Highlighted above is Why Corvette Racing uses Michelin tires. Below is another video create for external use where American Le Mans Series representatives, teams and drivers discuss how green racing is the future of the series.
Here is a glimpse of Emmy nominated The Plaza Documentary, directed by Matt Rasnick. Joseph Crumbley and I collaborated as the Directors of Photography on this piece. It was a great little project with some really cool people. It started off as just a small piece on the Plaza for it's 70th Anniversary and wound up being aired on PBS, and even more surprising, being nominated for an EMMY! We had the privilege to set up some visually attractive interviews for this piece.
In addition to handling the photography, I also created a quick motion piece for the intro to the Spookshow segment. Those guys had some crazy costumes during the interviews, so it inspired me to have some fun. I originally just wanted to do a sky replacement because we shot the exterior on an overcast day, but I guess I got a little carried away.
Ciba Vision wanted to create a viral solution for World Sight Day. The video was intended to bring awareness to proper eye care and remind people to have a check-up with a local eye care specialist. We created several versions of the video for regional use, including versions with subtitles to allow playback at regional eye-care facilities. It was also translated into several foreign languages to display on an international scale, and aimed to run as a commercial in Italy.
I was the Editor, however, I had to shoot a few pick-up shots and incorporate some VFX to help with our footage. I shot the sunrise pieces, like the one below, and had to track the shot and composite a more visible sun. As for the dew drops on the spider web, I strategically sprayed water and found the right angle to reflect the light. I also had to perform a few sky replacements and color-correction to match our footage with stock.
Georgia Work Ready came to MS&L wanting to create a video for an award ceremony. Their intent was to create something to showcase their Work Ready Regions. Ater traveling around Georgia with an awesome crew I came back to edit and complete some motion graphics for the project. I shot most of the b-roll on my Canon 5D. The interview setups were constructed by a lovely DP, Kathleen Kelly, as to which my second camera had the pleasure to assist her on.
We were asked to make three videos to showcase these large properties for sale in the North Georgia Mountains. There is nothing better than to be outside filming nature.
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers is an international organization founded in 1894. They focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability technologies. We were asked to create this video to educate the public about ASHRAE and their impressive capabilities.
The election of Tammy Baldwin was a historic day. She is the first woman elected to represent Wisconsin in the Senate and the first openly gay U.S. Senator. We were lucky enough to work with Victory Fund to create all these videos on this momentous day while the news was happening. With a fast paced schedule we would shoot for an hour and the next hour I would quickly edit these videos to post to social media as the day unfolded.
She wakes up alone, trapped, surrounded by darkness, with no memory of how she got there or even who she is. Will she escape? And even more importantly, who or what awaits her outside her prison if she does?
Web series “31,” is a supernatural thriller that will transform the way audiences receive creative content. In 31 explosive webisodes, each 31-seconds long, “31” begins its daily transmissions at 3:31 p.m. ET for 31 days beginning March 31.
The vision of writer-director L.C. Cruell, “31” is truly unique. "It has the story arc of a film with the structure of television, told cliffhanger by cliffhanger, within the attention span of the Internet. It's the best of all three worlds," states Cruell.
